For a Hobbyist by a Hobbyist
R&D began in 2020 after designer and engineer Luca Martino expanded his in-home reef system and was disappointed with his lighting options. The majority focused on providing entertainment (apps, adjuster bars, cheesy lighting effects, etc). There was not an economical and high quality light anywhere to be found.
Luca soon realized he had discovered a void AND an opportunity (insert evil genius laugh here) in the coral light industry – superior spectrum for growth, ability to handle a tank's harsh environment, an easy-to-use, no frills design, and affordable to all.
GOOD-BYE FANS
Fans fail, are noisy, and they are a hassle to clean. By thoroughly investing in and developing top-of-the-line heat sinks, we have eliminated the need for fans in our products. Now you can enjoy your tank, frustration- and noise-free.
SPLASHDOWN
In a split second, a simple splash of water will forever damage currently marketed (and expensive!) lights. Quanta lights are splashproof, gasketed, and have all electronic components completely sealed off from water.
GUARANTEE FAIRY
An industry-leading warranty is included with all our products. Most competitors offer a measly 1-year warranty. In the words of Tommy Callahan, Jr., "... for your sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality item from me."
Philosophy #1: Coral-Centric
What makes coral thrive? Quanta lighting is founded upon the use of a lot of violet light, as it is a major driver for coral photosynthesis. Full spectrum lighting is very important, as our hobby corals are in the depths where full spectrum is still present. Pinpoint sources of light do not recreate the natural light that corals receive. The light needs to be blended to minimize shadows, and effectively “punch” down into the tanks. Quanta's products and customer service are here to ensure that your coral have the correct spectrum in the proper presentation, allowing them to thrive long-term.
Philosophy #2: Innovation
How can we create reef lighting that is high quality AND affordable? Existing tested and proven LED light technology was thoroughly researched, and the findings were then applied to the aquarium lighting market.
4 core LED, independently powered chips are used in the Helix. With more LED diodes per light bar than the competition, each diode is driven with less current, leading to more efficient light production with a reduced thermal load. Broken down, this means you get a very powerful light bar that consumes less power to produce the same amount of light.
Quanta has transitioned from the mainstream 3W LED chip to the more modern and efficient LEDs, resulting in improved efficiency and thermal management, and reduced costs. The Atlas doubles down on this design philosophy by using a radial primary lens and a large form factor aluminum reflector that directs the light deep into the tank and allows for spectral blending.
Simple Yet Powerful
The Atlas and Helix are designed independently but work wonderfully together. The spectrums are designed with purpose and science-backed research. They are easy to clean, mount, and start up, without complicated apps or confusing light bar adjusters. We've taken the guesswork out so you can focus on growing beautiful coral.
